FET & R&D department visited ALIMCO on 14 November to present the Bionicman Project to the senior authorities of the organization
FET & R&D department of Rama University visited Artificial Limbs Manufacturing Corporation of India (ALIMCO) on 14 November 2019 to present the Bionicman Project. Dr. Hari Om Sharan- Dean-FET gave a detailed and impactful presentation on Bionic Man Project which was well received by the senior authorities of the organization. The presentation discussed on the outline, concept, working, different type of processes, lab work, and expectations from the projects and its outcome to provide clear picture of the project. The efforts of our Engineering students were truly appreciated and some insightful information was provided by the authorities which were duly noted. All the suggestion will soon be incorporated into the project.
About the Bionic man Project:
The word “Bionics” comprises of two words – ‘Bi’ means ‘life’ and ‘onics’ means ‘electronics’. Thus, Bionics = Bio(logy) + Electro(nics) which means it is the application of methods and systems found in nature to the study and design of engineering systems. In medicine, Bionics usually means the replacement or enhancement of organs or other body parts by mechanical versions or electrical add-ons. So, the main objective our project is building bionic limbs with machine intelligence that can sense their environment and predict a user's intentions. The technology will help someone in need to lead a normal life using modern technologies like artificial intelligence and IoT.
Outcome of the Presentation:
• The leading and most trusted creators of artificial limbs appreciated the effort, ideas, and hard work of our students at FET
• The authorities at ALIMCO have expressed their interest to visit Rama University to meet and guide the students on the Bionic Man project and are also willing to help within their capacity.
