Celebrations- World Diabetes Day 2022

Department of Community Medicine, Rama Medical College, Mandhana, Kanpur organised World Diabetes Day on 14 November 2022 under the guidance of Head of the Department, Dr. Anju Gahlot. Theme: “Access to Diabetes care – Education to protect tomorrow”.
World Diabetes Day (WDD) was created in 1991 by International Diabetes Federation (IDF) and the World Health Organization in response to growing concerns about the escalating health threat posed by diabetes.
The Objectives of the programme -
1. to raise awareness of diabetes as a global public health issue.
2. to educate diabetic patients regarding Diabetes care
3. to educate Health professionals about the symptoms, risk factors,prevention and management of the disease
The day started with a Global Walk for Diabetes headed by the faculty of Community medicine and Other faculties , Interns and around 600 students from MBBS , Nursing and Paramedical courses participated in the walk.
Outreach activity on awareness and screening camp for Diabetes was organized in village Kukradev, Urban & Rural Health Centers was organized on 15/11/2022.
Events Organised :
1. Quiz on 10th November, 2022 (Batch – 2019).
2.Global Walk for Diabetes from Play ground in front of University V.C Building to Rama Medical College
Auditorium from 11 AM -11:30 AM.
3. Talks on Physical Activity and Nutrition for Diabetes 11:30 AM onwards in RMC Auditorium.
4. Poster and Placards presentation
5. Quiz Competition for audience(14 th November)
6. Prize distribution.
7. Outreach activity on awareness and screening camp for Diabetes was organized in village Kukradev, Urban & Rural Health Centers was organized on 15/11/2022 from 10:00am to 1:00pm.
The experience of the day was great with the message Let's all be a part of the change to eradicate Diabetes and join hands to control the Epidemic of Diabetes and to make life better for each and everyone on the globe.
