Graffiti Art Competition organized successfully

Graffiti is an art form that is considered as a medium of opinion sharing. There is another side to graffiti which is more about individual expression than mass communication in which artists demonstrate the aesthetics of their art.
In the last few years, several colleges & universities started following the Graffiti culture to street art & Illustration. Inspired with that, the Department of Journalism & Mass Communication organized a 5-day event from 24th-28th February of Graffiti Art competition on the campus.
The theme of this competition was "Pyar, Shanti, aur Sangeet". Students from all the departments participated and showed a keen interest in this competition. Creative minds had an array of ideation which they successfully illustrated on walls.
These 5 days witnessed enthusiasm not only from students but also from faculties of the Department - Assistant Professor - Ms.Smitee Kumari, Ms. Anamika Halder, and Video editor - Mr. Deepak Kumar showed their interest in this competition and painted few walls.
A total of 20 teams participated, having 5-7members in each team. The registration was done a week before the competition started. But ever since it started every day was like a new day- with each passing day, a new color, a new image, a new portrait was painted on walls- all the 20 Teams painted something different and unique in their way - Australia's Forest fire, Mother Teresa, Maithili painting, Madhubani Painting, Taj Mahal, Radha Krishna, an image of a Mother- all these are the symbol of love & Image of Buddha depicting Peace were painted.
On 3rd March the evaluation was done by a team of judges comprising of - COE -Mr. R.K.Yadav, Dean of FET- Dr.Hari Om Sharan, Dean of FPS - Dr.Santosh Kumar Gautam, And Head of T & P cell- Mr. Tanuj Chawla. It was followed by the Prize distribution ceremony held in Seminar-hall marked by the presence of Registrar - Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, Deputy Registrar- Mr. Sandeep Shukla, Dean of FET- Dr.Hari Om Sharan, Dean of FPS - Dr. Santosh Kumar Gautam.
1st prize was given to the team of the Nursing Department, 2nd prize was given to a team of Paramedical Department and 3rd prize was given to the Law Department.
A winning trophy was given to all the three teams and an exciting gift hamper full of Chocolates and Wafers was also given to the 1st prize winner. Every participant received the certificate of participation in this competition.
This whole event would have been incomplete without the full support of all the students and the faculty members of the Department of Journalism & Mass communication.
