In addition, such trips are also beneficial for students to learn and understand the traditional cultures and lifestyles of the people.
Day 1 visit (18 November 2019)
The journey to Chandigarh via Ambala from Kanpur central station was started at night by 08.05 pm via train Unchahar Express (train no. 14217). We reached Ambala cant in the next morning by 9:00 am. The one night journey began with joy, excitement and great zeal. Near Ambala Junction, we clicked some group photographs as the first memory of the place. Then, we took the bus from Ambala to reach our first destination i.e. Chandigarh.
Day 2 visit (19 November 2019)
We reached Chandigarh from Ambala by 12: 00 pm and stayed in Hotel the Classic. After taking lunch, we went for industry visit Dr. Morepen that is located in Baddi. Before the visit, we were given some instructions by General Manager of the company and then we were divided into two groups each with one guide to visit the various sections. Here, we saw raw material storage section, synthesis area, drying section, finished product storage section, quality control, and quality assurance sections. Each section was equipped with sensitive and highly advanced instruments. After visit, we were provided with little refreshments and left the premises at 5:00 pm. The students were satisfied with the cooperation and support of company personnel.
Day 3, 4, 5 visits (20-23 November 2019)
Our next destination was the beautiful place Manali, located in Kullu, Himachal Pradesh. We spend 3 days in Manali, a hill station about 310 km from Chandigarh. We reached Manali in the morning by 10:30 am and stayed in hotel Grand Krishna Resort & Spa center. Here, we visited Mall road, Hadimba temple, Gulaba Hills (snow point). Manali is also an attractive place for adventurous activities like paragliding, river rafting. We enjoyed all these activities. Since it was the winter season, we witnessed snowfall at Gulaba hills.
Finally, we left Manali in the morning and again reached Chandigarh where we visited Sukhana Lake. Later on, we came back to Kanpur in the morning via Kalka train (12312).
The industrial visit/ educational excursion was an amazing experience for the students. This visit indeed brought positivity and filled the students with a new rush of energy to work hard to open up new avenues of opportunities in future. The visit could not be completed without the efforts and encouragement of Dr. Pradeep Singh- Head of Department, Mr. Nasir- tour organizing member from Destination Holidays, and other staff and faculty of FPM.
