International Nurse’s Day observed

On account of International Nurse’s Day, Faculty of Nursing organized a 3-day program to celebrate the contribution of nursing staff in the healthcare settings and also to commemorate the birth anniversary of Florence Nightingale. The program commenced on May 10, 2019, and was wrapped up on May 13, 2019. The theme for the celebration was “Nurse: A voice to lead for all” Here is a brief outline of all the programs that were held during the ceremony:
Day 01 (10.05.2019)
The program started on 10.05.2019 (Friday) with a formal Inauguration by Mrs. A.C. Singh, Dean/Principal Faculty of Nursing along with Ms. Monika Gautam, Academic coordinator and all the HOD’s. The program started at 9:30 am by the lighting of the lamp followed by the Invocation song by B.Sc 2nd year students. The principal gave a speech on the importance of Nurse’s Day and motivated the students and faculty members to participate enthusiastically in the events.
The faculties of the nursing college organized various events for all nursing students, and they participated with great fervor in all the competition. The event commenced at10.00 a.m and comprised of Rangoli Competition, Solo Singing Competition, Fashion Show, Group Dance, Skit, Poetry and Essay Competitions. The students actively participated and the faculty members of the nursing college evaluated their performances. At 3.00pm Program concluded with photo sessions and National Anthem.
Day 02 (11.05.2019)
On day 2 the events started at 10.00 am and comprised of Duet Singing, Solo Dance, Craft, Mehendi, Poster Making Competition, Speech Competition, and And Tableau. All the students from various courses of nursing actively participated and the faculty members of nursing college evaluated their performances. Dean /Principal, Faculty of Nursing, HOD and staff members appreciated the performance of the students and applauded their hard work and talent. The program wrapped up with a photo session and National Anthem at 3:00 pm.
Day 03 (13.05.2019)
On 13.05.2019 the main program started at 11.30am and prior to that lighting of the lamp was held by Mrs. A.C. Singh Dean/Principal faculty of Nursing and Mr. Keshava Reddy M, Professor cum HOD of Community Health Nursing and HOD’s of all departments. The invocation song was sung by B.Sc 4th year students and it was followed by the session on the significance of the Nurse Day and also on the life and work of Florence Nightingale by Mrs. Shipra Sachan, Asst. Prof. She also explained Florence contribution to humanity via nursing and encouraged the nursing staff, faculty and students to follow her footsteps. Later, she went on to introduce the theme of Nurse’s day 2019; Nurse: a voice to lead health for all, and how it helps in achieving sustainable goals. She also motivated the students to have high visionary goals in their professional life by stressing that Nursing is a unique profession that focuses on service-oriented goal towards serving mankind.
The program continued with some special performances by the students followed by the prize distribution ceremony at 2.30pm for the winners of various events held on 10 and 11 of May. Mrs. A.C Singh, Principal, Rama College of Nursing, Prof. Mr. Keshava Reddy M, and Ms. Monika Gautam, Academic coordinator and all the senior most faculty members distributed the prize for the winners of various competitions. At 3.00 pm Vote of Thanks was delivered by Mrs. Prathiba Srivastava, Ass. Prof. and the program finally ended with National Anthem and photo shoot.
