National Public Health Dentistry Day

National Public Health Dentistry Day is an initiative of the Indian Association of Public Health Dentistry. It is celebrated on 19th June every year.
Rama University’s Faculty of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry Lakhanpur, Kanpur, organized week-long activities/events to mark the celebrations of National Public Health Dentistry Day. The events included the following:
1. Cake cutting with Pgs and UGs posted in the Department.
2. A special talk was held by the H.O.D. for our students, about the role of public health dentists in the current context, and highlighting the importance of Public Health Dentistry specialty as a career option.
3. Rangoli competition on the theme “National Public Health Dentistry Day”. 27 students enthusiastically participated and brought forward a plethora of beautiful designs and colors in making colorful rangolis.
4. Oral health awareness Camp on 24th June 2022 at Ranigunj, Kakadev, Kanpur. Nearly 52 patients were examined during this camp. All the patients requiring treatment were referred to Rama Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Lakhanpur Kanpur. Health education was imparted to improve their oral hygiene. Correct tooth brushing technique was demonstrated using a tooth brushing model. The camp was organized in coordination with Mr. Subramanyam, Liason Officer, and patients were examined by Dr. Surbhit Singh (senior lecturer), Dr. Smriti Tripathi (Pg 2nd year), Dr. Saumya Nandan (Pg 2nd year) and Dr. Raman Jayant (Pg2 nd year)
