Oral Hygiene Imparted to the public through the “Oral Health Care Program”

Rama University's Faculty of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry at Lakhanpur, Kanpur, organized an Oral Health Care Program on the occasion of World Oral Health Day at Rama Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre Kanpur and was held on 20 March 2021 and to elevate the importance of oral hygiene, an Oral Health Screening camp was also organized at Yashoda Nagar, Kanpur. About the Program:
A team of faculty, postgraduate and undergraduate students conducted an oral health awareness drive on the college campus to educate patients and the public regarding oral health problems, prevention, and its treatment. This comprehensive program was successfully executed under the expert guidance of Principal – Dr. Janardhana Amaranath B.J., Dr. Nidhi Pruthi Shukla– Head of Department, Dr. Jaspreet Singh Tuteja– Reader, Dr. Deepika Singh – Senior Lecturer.
People were educated using models and charts in the oral health museum to improve their oral hygiene and for disease prevention in the future.
An Oral Health Screening camp was also organized at Yashoda Nagar, Kanpur. A team of Doctors and Paramedical Staff Left the college at 9:00 am and reached the venue at 10:00 am. The team made all the necessary arrangements, and OPD started at 10:15 am. Nearly 70 patients were examined during this camp. Interns and Postgraduates spread awareness talk to patients on the importance of dental health and dental hygiene measures. The common dental problems faced by patients pertained to caries, bleeding gums, periodontal pockets. All the follow-up cases for dental issues were referred to Rama Dental College, Hospital & Research Centre, Lakhanpur Kanpur.
