Webinar on 'World No Tobacco Day' was a Cheering Success to say NO to Tobacco

Faculty of Dental Sciences, Department of Public Health Dentistry, organized a webinar on the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day 31st May 2021’ on the topic-‘Role and responsibility of the healthcare sector in Tobacco endgame during pandemic’ through Zoom Meeting. About the Webinar:
The speaker, Dr.Vartika Mongaenlightened the audience regarding the co-relation of using tobacco and the Covid-19 pandemic. She focused on the current situation of lockdown in India and how the various states are implementing tobacco control measures to curb the pandemic. The speaker also discussed what WHO recommends for tobacco users and the role of the healthcare sector in reducing tobacco use.
A total of 337 registrations were received, out of which 172 participants attended, including faculty and students. On the occasion of ‘World No Tobacco Day,’ there were two competitions: e-poster and short essay writing competition. There were a total of 36 entries received, and prizes were given for the same.
The Department of Public Health Dentistry organized the webinar and the competitions under the able guidance of Principal Dr.Janardhana Amarnath BJ. The event was hosted by Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Professor & Head of the Department, and coordinated by Dr. Jaspreet Tuteja, Dr. Devina Pradhan, and Dr. Deepika Singh. The department would like to thank Rama University for providing this opportunity and platform for presenting this webinar.
