Exploring Biotechnology Innovations: Rama University's Industrial Visit to Patanjali Food & Herbal Park

The Department of Biotechnology at Rama University recently organized a highly successful industrial visit to Patanjali Food & Herbal Park in Haridwar, Uttarakhand. The visit, which took place from 11th May to 15th May 2023, aimed to provide students with valuable insights into the latest trends in biotechnology and help them explore potential career paths within the field.
The industrial visit was attended by a total of 43 students from various years of B.Tech, B.Sc, M.Sc, and PhD programs in biotechnology. Dr. Ajay Kumar, the department head, was joined by two professors, Ms. Priyancka Arora and Ms. Anamika Tiwari, as well as Mr. Shreesh Dubey, the lab technician, in accompanying the students. Additionally, three students were appointed as student coordinators to facilitate communication between the department and the participants.
The journey began on May 11 with departure from the Rama University Faculty of Engineering and Technology. The next day, everyone arrived in Haridwar and proceeded to Patanjali Food & Herbal Park. The largest food park in the world, which was divided into four functional sectors for food, cosmetics, medicines, and aastha saamagri, was accessible for students to tour.
The opportunity to see the advanced bioanalytical equipment used at Patanjali Food & Herbal Park was one of the highlights of the industrial tour. The students observed and studied a variety of cutting-edge technologies during their tour, including gas chromatography, mass spectrometry, high-performance liquid chromatography, and others. They also learned a lot about the quality assurance and control procedures used in the manufacturing of pharmaceutical and food goods. The management and employees of Patanjali Food & Herbal Park were really helpful and involved with the touring students. They answered the students' questions, provided helpful advice, and provided in-depth explanations and insights into the corporate world. The students were really grateful for the chance to speak with business experts and learn real-world skills.
Students from various biotechnology fields had a great chance to connect and work together during the industrial tour. They improved their social skills and teamwork by coordinating different portions of the vacation together.The industrial visit provided an excellent opportunity for students from different branches of biotechnology to come together and collaborate. Beyond the Visit: Exploring Haridwar's Cultural and Natural Treasures
The students also see the picturesque city of Haridwar in addition to the industrial visit. They visited the famous Har Ki Pauri, where they experienced the mesmerizing Ganga Aarti performed in the evening. The trip also included visits to the scenic waterfalls and caves at Sahastradhara and Robbers Cave - Guchhu Pani Picnic Area in Dehradun, which showcased the breathtaking beauty of nature. The students concluded their visit with a visit to the Mansa Devi temple and an exhilarating rafting adventure.

The Dean of the Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Dr. Hari Om Sharan, was credited for his tireless efforts in arranging for students to have the chance to tour the industry and gain information outside of the realm of textbooks, which contributed to the success of the industrial visit. The Department of Biotechnology's Head, Prof. (Dr.) Ajay Kumar, was involved in organising the trip and guiding the students, ensuring that they had a memorable and educational time.The faculties, staff members, and student coordinators also deserve appreciation for their coordination and support throughout the event.
