Faculty Development Program Inaugurated at Faculty of Commerce and Management

Introduction
Today marked the inauguration of a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on the theme of “Indian Knowledge System,” organized by the Faculty of Commerce and Management (FCM). The program, scheduled from 23rd to 27th July 2024, aims to integrate Indian knowledge systems and ethos into modern education.

Insightful Lectures
The program features a series of insightful lectures by distinguished speakers who are experts in their fields. These sessions are designed to provide a deep understanding of various aspects of the Indian knowledge system and its relevance in contemporary education.
Exhibition of Microgreens
Date: 23rd July 2024 (9:30 AM onwards)
An exhibition of microgreens was held as part of the FDP, showcasing an initiative by FCM that reflects the Indian ethos of Satvik herb-based food. Participants learned about the benefits and cultivation of microgreens, promoting a healthy and sustainable lifestyle. They also savoured freshly grown microgreens, grown under FCM's initiative, Rama University - the Microgreen Revolution.
Inaugural Session Highlights
The inaugural session was marked by thoughtful deliberations on the age-old Sanatan Dharma and the rich legacy of Indian knowledge and culture. The keynote speaker, Mr. Roshan Jacob, a distinguished strategist with experience leading companies in the USA, Singapore, and Dubai, initiated the Microgreen Revolution in the Faculty of Commerce and Management along with the students. Around 20 varieties of microgreens were served to guests and participants during the FDP.
First Session by Prof. Margie Parikh
The first session of the FDP was delivered by Prof. Margie Parikh, a highly respected academician from Gujarat University and a visiting professor at IIM Ahmedabad. Her session set the tone for the rest of the program, offering valuable insights into the integration of Indian knowledge systems into modern education.
Presence of Illustrious Dignitaries
The event saw the presence of various illustrious dignitaries from Rama University, including Registrar Shri Prabhat Ranjan, Dean of Academics and Planning Prof. Hariom Sharan, Dean of Research and Development Prof. Manish Dhingra, Dean FCM Prof. Vaishali Dhingra, and the deans of various faculties of Rama University.
