Rama University Marks World Intellectual Property Day 2024 with Insightful Event

On April 26th, 2024, Rama University's Faculty of Engineering and Technology, located in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, celebrated World Intellectual Property Day in collaboration with the Institution’s Innovation Council. The event aimed to raise awareness about the critical role of intellectual property (IP) rights in fostering innovation and creativity.
The occasion witnessed the enthusiastic participation of Deans, Principals, HODs, faculty members, staff, and students, all eager to delve into discussions surrounding intellectual property rights (IPR). The highlight of the event was a compelling talk by Dr. C.S. Raghuvanshi Sir, the Dean of Engineering, who emphasized the significance of IP rights in the modern landscape of innovation and technology.
Dr. Raghuvanshi elucidated how patents, copyrights, trademarks, and other forms of intellectual property serve as crucial tools for incentivizing creativity, safeguarding the rights of inventors and creators, and fostering innovation. Faculty members shared valuable insights on various aspects of intellectual property, including patenting inventions, copyright laws, and the commercialization of intellectual assets.
Students actively participated in discussions, showcasing their eagerness to contribute to the field of intellectual property as future engineers and technologists. The event served as a platform for fostering awareness, dialogue, and collaboration in the realm of intellectual property.
As participants departed with newfound knowledge and inspiration, the celebration of World Intellectual Property Day at Rama University ignited a passion for intellectual property advocacy and innovation within the university community.
