An Industrial Visit to IIPR – Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur

Rama University faculty of Engineering and Technology Science’s department of Biotechnology, Mandhana Kanpur organised an Industrial Visit to IIPR – Indian Institute of Pulses Research, Kanpur for their students of B.Tech Biotechnology/ B.Sc Biotechnology/ M.Sc Biotechnology on Friday, 31st July 2015. The main objective of the visit was to inculcate practical knowledge about various processes involved in pulse farming and related research. Students were familiarized with various steps involved in pulse cultivation like Pulse composting, growing, Spawning, Plant breeding, crapping and quality testing. They also visited Genomics, Tissue culture, Instrumentation laboratories and Museum. Dr.K.R.Soren and his team mates guided students throughout the visit and answered all the queries of the students. The visit proved highly beneficial to the students as they got an opportunity to experience the learning of basic processes of Pulse farming. The visit was coordinated by Dr. Anil Kumar and supportive Team, Dr. Ajay Kumar (HOD), Mr. Vachaspati Rao and Miss. Nidhi Raj Yadav. It was a creative and innovative step towards sustainable development of students in the area of Biotechnology.
