Agriculture Industry Expert Session Highlights Career Opportunities, Skills and Professional Growth for New Students

An Industry–Academia Orientation Programme for Newly Admitted B.Sc. Agricultural Students at Rama University
The Faculty of Agricultural Science and Allied Industries, Rama University organized an Industry Expert Session on 21 August 2026 at 11:00 A.M. at the VC Building Seminar Hall, as part of the orientation and academic induction of newly admitted agricultural students.
The programme was started with the warm welcome of the expert by Prof. (Dr.) Aneeta Yadav, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural Science and Allied Industries. The session was organized with the objective of familiarizing new students with the professional world of agriculture, emerging career opportunities, industry expectations, and the skills required to build a successful career beyond the classroom. The programme provided an early exposure to the agriculture industry and helped students understand how academic learning can be effectively connected with professional opportunities.
The session featured Mr. Vishal Singh, Regional Manager – Sales, ADAMA India, as the Industry Expert. Drawing upon his professional experience in the agricultural input industry, Mr. Singh interacted with the students and provided valuable insights into the current industry landscape, career pathways, professional competencies, sales and marketing opportunities, and expectations of employers from agriculture graduates.During the session, students were encouraged to look beyond conventional career options and explore opportunities in areas such as agri-inputs, crop protection, seed and fertilizer industries, sales and marketing, agribusiness, entrepreneurship, technical services, field operations, research, and allied sectors. The expert emphasized the importance of developing communication skills, technical knowledge, problem-solving ability, field exposure, teamwork, adaptability, and professional confidence alongside academic qualifications.
As the programme was organized as part of the orientation of new agricultural students, special emphasis was placed on helping students understand the relevance of their agricultural education to real-world industry requirements. The interaction motivated students to begin thinking about their career goals from the early stage of their academic journey and to actively develop industry-relevant skills during their course.The session also provided an interactive platform where students could understand the practical challenges and opportunities associated with careers in the agriculture sector. The expert encouraged students to remain curious, continuously upgrade their knowledge, gain practical exposure, and develop a professional attitude to become employable and industry-ready graduates.
The Industry Expert Session concluded with Vote of Thanks by Dr. Vinay J. Silas, HoD, Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries, Rama University. The programme successfully introduced the new agricultural students to the career possibilities, professional expectations, and practical dimensions of the agriculture industry, thereby providing them with a strong foundation for their academic and career journey at FASAI, Rama University.
Overall, the Industry Expert Session served as a valuable component of the orientation programme for newly admitted agricultural students and provided them with practical exposure, professional direction, and motivation to pursue diverse and rewarding careers in the agriculture sector.
