Students of the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University, visited the Mango Festival 2025 held from July 4–6 at Awadh Shilpgram, Lucknow. The festival showcased over 800 mango varieties including Dussehri, Langra, Chaunsa, Amrapali, and Rataul. Key attractions included buyer–seller meets, technical workshops on packaging, pest control, and exports, and expert stalls like the Awadh Mango Growers Society and institutions displaying rare varieties.
Inaugurated by CM Yogi Adityanath, the festival celebrated mango diversity, farmer innovation, and global trade with dispatches to London and Dubai. Over 1,449 participants presented 2,853 mango samples. Cultural highlights featured mango-eating contests, mango-based culinary treats, and performances by Pawan Singh and poet Kumar Vishwas.
Students gained insights into post-harvest products such as pulp, pickles, chutney, aam papad, and frozen mangoes. Dr. Jitendra Kumar and Dr. Syed Mohd Quatadah helped the students to gain a valuable insight. The visit offered a holistic view of the mango industry—from farm to international markets—merging agriculture with culture and commerce. Overall it was a successful event.
