B.Sc. (Agriculture) Students Explore Sustainable Mushroom Production and Agri-Entrepreneurship at Shree Binova Agro Farms

Educational visit provides students with practical exposure to mushroom cultivation, farm-based technologies, value addition, and entrepreneurial opportunities in agriculture.
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University organized an educational visit to Shree Binova Agro Farms, Binova Nagar, Maitha, Sherpur, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh – 209101, on 1st October, 2026 with the objective of providing students with practical exposure to modern agricultural practices and farm-based entrepreneurship.
During the visit, Mr. Monoj Kumar Singh, Founder: Shree Binova Agro Farms. Sherpur, Kanpur told the students about the importance of scientific cultivation practices, proper environmental conditions, hygiene, quality management, and efficient utilization of agricultural resources for successful mushroom production. The practical exposure helped students understand how agricultural knowledge and scientific technologies can be converted into viable entrepreneurial opportunities. The interaction also highlighted the scope of agribusiness, rural entrepreneurship, employment generation, and value-added agricultural enterprises. Students gained insights into the importance of innovation, skill development, market orientation, and proper farm management for developing sustainable agricultural businesses.
The visit offered students an opportunity to move beyond classroom learning and gain first-hand knowledge of mushroom cultivation, production practices, farm management, value addition, and commercial opportunities associated with mushroom-based enterprises. The students observed various aspects of farm operations and interacted with the personnel associated with the enterprise to understand the practical challenges and opportunities involved in establishing and managing an agri-based venture.
Under the Guidance of Dr. Raghvendra and Dr. Sarvesh of FASAI, the educational visit served as an enriching learning experience for the students of FASAI and helped bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application. It encouraged students to explore emerging areas of agriculture and consider entrepreneurship as a promising career pathway.
The visit concluded with an expression of gratitude to Shree Binova Agro Farms for facilitating the educational interaction and sharing valuable practical knowledge with the students. The programme successfully contributed to enhancing the students’ understanding of modern agricultural enterprises and strengthening their interest in skill-based, technology-driven, and sustainable agricultural practices.
