Campus to Career Placement Drive Strengthens Nursing Futures at Rama University

The Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur successfully organized a Placement Drive for the B.Sc Nursing Batch 2021–2025 on 07 January 2026, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM, at the Seminar Hall, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University. The placement drive was conducted in collaboration with Manipal Hospitals, Jaipur, with the objective of providing final-year nursing students an opportunity to secure employment in a reputed healthcare organization and to bridge the gap between academic learning and professional practice.
The programme commenced with a formal welcome address by Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean and Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur. In her address, she warmly welcomed the representatives from Manipal Hospitals and highlighted the university’s commitment to producing competent, ethical, and patient-centered nursing professionals. She emphasized the importance of placement drives in shaping students’ careers and strengthening institutional–industry collaboration.
The placement drive was led by the Human Resources team of Manipal Hospitals, Jaipur, headed by Ms. Poonam Purohit (H.R.), along with Mrs. Lyni Jhon, Nursing Superintendent, and Nursing Educators Mrs. Sowmya Xavier and Mrs. Nancy Robert. The session began with an orientation programme, during which HR manager Ms. Poonam Purohit introduced the organization, its vision, values, infrastructure, scope of nursing services, career progression opportunities, and professional expectations from newly recruited nursing graduates.
Following the orientation, the recruiters provided detailed insights into job roles, eligibility criteria, selection process, salary structure, benefits, training programmes and professional growth opportunities available at Manipal Hospitals. The interaction was highly informative and motivational, enabling students to gain a clear understanding of the professional standards and responsibilities expected in a tertiary care hospital setting.
The selection process comprised screening of academic credentials, personal interaction and interviews, conducted systematically by the Manipal Hospitals recruitment panel. The panel assessed the students’ clinical knowledge, communication skills, professional attitude and readiness to work in a multidisciplinary healthcare environment. The 86 students actively participated in the process with confidence and enthusiasm, reflecting the quality of education and training imparted by the Faculty of Nursing.
The entire placement drive was efficiently coordinated by the Placement Drive Coordinators, Prof. Vipin A, Head of the Department, Child Health Nursing, Faculty of Nursing, Mrs. Niladrita Deb, Associate Professor, Department of Medical Surgical Nursing and Ms. Prarthana Mahapathra, PG Tutor, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University. Their meticulous planning and coordination ensured the smooth conduct of the programme, including scheduling, student management, and logistical arrangements.
As part of the placement drive, students were shortlisted in the first round of interview, followed by a CBT and final interviews with the Nursing Superintendent and HR Manager. Finally, the placement drive was successful with Manipal Hospitals, Jaipur marking a significant achievement for the B.Sc. Nursing Batch 2021–2025.The placement drive concluded with a feedback and vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the Manipal Hospitals recruitment team for their valuable time and support, the university administration for continuous encouragement and the faculty members for their guidance and cooperation. The event was a significant success, providing a valuable platform for students to initiate their professional careers and reinforcing the strong academic industry partnership between Rama University and Manipal Hospitals.
