International Women’s Day, celebrated globally on International Women's Day, is a significant occasion dedicated to honoring the achievements, resilience, and invaluable contributions of women in every sphere of life. It is a day that recognizes the strength, determination, and dedication of women who continue to shape families, communities, and nations through their wisdom, compassion, and leadership.
Reflecting this spirit, the theme “Bharati – Nari to Narayani” symbolizes the powerful transformation of women from being the nurturing foundation of families and culture to becoming dynamic forces of leadership, courage, wisdom, and empowerment. Rama University proudly celebrated International Women’s Day 2026 by organizing a Poster Making Competition and Visual Biography Competition on 6th March 2026. The event aimed to encourage creativity, awareness, and appreciation for women’s empowerment among students while providing a platform to artistically portray the struggles, achievements, and inspiring journeys of influential women personalities.
The celebration was graced by Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, along with respected jury members from various faculties, Heads of Departments, faculty members, and enthusiastic student participants from different faculties of Rama University. The competitions witnessed active participation from students who displayed remarkable creativity and thoughtful perspectives aligned with the theme.
The Poster Making Competition commenced at 10:00 AM, where students expressed their ideas through vibrant and meaningful artistic presentations that reflected the strength, achievements, and empowerment of women in society. The Visual Biography Competition commenced at 2:15 PM, during which participants presented inspiring biographies of influential women personalities through creative and informative presentations, highlighting their struggles, contributions, and lasting impact on society.
The jury members for the Poster Making Competition were:
- Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University
- Dr. Deeksha Ranjan, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Rama University
- Dr. Nidhi Prurthi, Professor & HOD, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Rama University
The jury members for the Visual Biography Competition were:
- Dr. Manu Kaushik, Dean, Faculty of Mass Communication, Rama University
- Dr. Indu Shukla, Assistant Professor, Rama University
- Ms. Garima Tiwari, Assistant Manager (HR), Rama University
Both competitions were evaluated by the respective jury members based on creativity, relevance to the theme, presentation, and overall impact. The participants demonstrated remarkable talent, awareness, and dedication while presenting their ideas and inspirations, making the event both informative and inspiring.
The program concluded successfully with enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members. The Poster Making and Visual Biography Competitions provided a meaningful platform for students to creatively express their appreciation for women’s empowerment under the theme “Bharati – Nari to Narayani.” The event not only celebrated the achievements of women but also encouraged participants to reflect on the importance of equality, respect, and empowerment in building a progressive society. The announcement of winners and appreciation for all participants marked the end of a memorable and inspiring celebration that honored the strength, dignity, and limitless potential of women.
