The Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur, organized a Certificate Distribution Ceremony for two Short-Term Courses “Hospital Infection Control & Practices” and “First Aid and Rescue Management” on 8th November 2025 in the Seminar Hall of Rama College of Nursing. The program was organized to honour and celebrate the successful completion of these two important courses and to acknowledge the dedication of students and professionals toward skill enhancement and clinical competence. The event carried the combined theme of “Strengthening Nursing Competence in Infection Prevention, First Aid, and Rescue Management.”
The short-term course on Hospital Infection Control & Practices, conducted from March to May 2025, aimed to enhance knowledge and practical skills among nursing students and professionals regarding infection prevention and control within healthcare settings. It emphasized the importance of evidence-based practices in ensuring patient safety and reducing hospital-acquired infections. The course empowered nurses with updated knowledge, critical thinking, and the ability to maintain a safe hospital environment. Similarly, the short-term course on First Aid and Rescue Management, conducted from May to June 2025, was designed to strengthen the practical knowledge and hands-on skills of participants in providing immediate first aid, emergency response, and rescue management in clinical and community situations.
The certificate distribution ceremony was organized to celebrate the successful completion of these short-term courses by around 150 participants, including B.Sc. Nursing 2nd and 3rd semester students, GNM 1st-year students, and nursing professionals from clinical and academic backgrounds. The event was graced by the Principal, Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Vice Principal, Dr. Minu S. R., Mrs. K. Jyotishree, HOD & Associate Professor, Department of MSN, along with other faculty members and participants.
The programme commenced at 2.15 pm with the arrival of dignitaries, faculty members, and participants. The event began with a warm welcome address by Mrs. K. Jyotishree, who extended greetings to all and emphasized the relevance of both courses in developing nursing competence. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Principal, delivered the inaugural address highlighting the importance of infection control, first aid, and rescue management in the field of nursing. She stated that such initiatives help strengthen the professional competence of nursing students and staff in maintaining patient safety, preventing infections, and providing timely emergency care. Dr. Minu S. R., Vice Principal, appreciated the efforts of the organizing committee and acknowledged the dedication of participants for their active involvement and successful completion of the courses.
During the ceremony, certificates were distributed to all successful participants in recognition of their commitment and completion of the short-term courses. Selected participants shared their experiences and feedback, expressing gratitude to the faculty and organizers for providing such a valuable learning opportunity. They highlighted how these courses enhanced their understanding and confidence in handling infection prevention procedures, first aid, and rescue operations.
A formal vote of thanks was delivered by a faculty representative of the organizing committee, acknowledging the contributions of the Principal, Vice Principal, faculty members, and all participants for making the event successful. The ceremony concluded with a group photograph session with all dignitaries, faculty, and students, marking a memorable end to the occasion.
Both short-term courses received an excellent response and were successfully implemented, ensuring active participation and engagement from all attendees. The sessions included comprehensive training modules, practical demonstrations, and interactive discussions that provided a deep understanding of infection control measures and emergency care management. The participants gained valuable insights into the importance of maintaining aseptic techniques, applying first aid principles, and performing rescue operations effectively.
