Digital Media Minds Organises Groom to Glow Programme for Holistic Student Development Skills
20 Aug 2026
The Digital Media Minds Student Club, Rama University organized an engaging and informative student development activity titled “Groom to Glow: Enhance Your Personal & Professional Growth.” The activity was designed to help students understand the importance of personal grooming, professional presentation, confidence, communication, and positive self-image in both academic and professional environments.
The initiative aimed to provide students with practical guidance that can contribute to their overall personality development and prepare them for future challenges in classrooms, presentations, interviews, internships, workplaces, and professional interactions.
Developing a Positive Personal Image
The activity focused on helping students understand that grooming is not limited to physical appearance. It also includes personal hygiene, appropriate dressing, body language, communication, confidence, etiquette, and the way individuals present themselves in different situations.
Students were encouraged to recognize the importance of creating a positive first impression while remaining comfortable, authentic, and respectful of individual personality and preferences.
Grooming for Academic & Professional Success
Through interactive discussions and practical activities, students explored how their presentation and behaviour can influence their interactions with teachers, classmates, colleagues, interviewers, and other professionals.
The session highlighted useful aspects of professional grooming, including:
- Personal hygiene and self-care
- Appropriate and occasion-based dressing
- Professional appearance and presentation
- Body language and posture
- Eye contact and confident communication
- Classroom and presentation etiquette
- Interview and workplace grooming
- Developing a positive professional image
- Maintaining confidence while interacting with others
Building Confidence Through Communication
A key focus of the activity was self-confidence and effective communication. Students were encouraged to participate in interactive exercises involving self-introduction, speaking, body language, and interpersonal communication.
These activities provided students with an opportunity to overcome hesitation and become more comfortable while expressing their ideas in front of others. The session emphasized that confidence develops through practice, preparation, self-awareness, and continuous improvement.
Preparing Students for the Professional World
The activity also highlighted the relevance of grooming and professional conduct beyond the university environment. Students were introduced to situations they are likely to encounter during their academic and professional journey, such as job interviews, group discussions, presentations, internships, meetings, and workplace interactions.
The discussion helped students understand that professional success depends not only on academic knowledge and technical skills but also on the ability to communicate effectively, behave professionally, and present oneself confidently.
Interactive & Experiential Learning
The activity was conducted in an interactive manner to encourage active participation rather than passive listening. Students engaged in discussions, practical exercises, self-presentation activities, and peer interaction.
The interactive format created an encouraging environment where students could identify areas for improvement and learn from the experiences and observations of their peers.
