"Empowering Minds: Rama University's Dynamic Speech Competition on 'Development & Pollution'"

The Department of Journalism & Mass Communication at Rama University recently organized a thought-provoking speech competition on the pertinent theme of "Development & Pollution" on November 29, 2023. The primary objective of this event was to create a platform for students to articulate their thoughts, insights, and potential solutions concerning the coexistence of development and the escalating concern of pollution.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from students across different semesters. The event commenced with a motivating opening address by the Dean of Journalism & Mass Communication Dr. Niranjan Kumar.
The Dean emphasized the importance of such platforms in nurturing the communication skills of students and encouraging them to engage in discussions on critical issues affecting society. Assistant Professor Ms. Swati Gupta played a pivotal role in preparing the participants for the competition. She provided valuable insights into effective speech delivery, highlighting common mistakes made by students and encouraging them to enhance their learning abilities. Ms. Gupta's guidance aimed to empower students to confidently articulate their perspectives on the given topic.
The much-anticipated moment arrived as Ms. Swati Gupta announced the results of the competition. The consolation prize was awarded to Shrishti Pandey, a first-semester student of BJMC, recognizing her commendable effort. Poonam Gupta, a second-year BJMC student, secured the second prize for her insightful presentation. The first prize, the pinnacle of achievement, was awarded to Mitali Singh, who demonstrated exceptional clarity and depth in addressing the theme. The prizes were presented by the Dean of Journalism & Mass Communication Dr. Niranjan Kumar.
To conclude the event, faculty member Ms. Kavita Verma expressed gratitude to all the participants for their active involvement. She commended their dedication and encouraged them to continue participating in departmental events to further hone their skills and contribute meaningfully to discussions on important societal issues.
