Expert Lecture on World Earth Day 2026 Promoting Sustainable Agriculture and Environmental Conservation Awareness

The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences and Allied Industries, Rama University, organized an Expert Lecture on the occasion of World Earth Day on 22 April 2026.
The lecture was delivered with the theme “Towards a Pollution-Free Future through Sustainable Agricultural Practices” by Dr. Deepanshu Jayaswal, Scientist (Senior Scale), Agricultural Biotechnology, at the ICAR–Indian Institute of Seed Science with the objective of spreading awareness about environmental sustainability and promoting responsible agricultural practices among students.
During the lecture, Dr. Jayaswal highlighted the significance of adopting sustainable agricultural practices to address the growing concerns of environmental pollution, soil degradation, and climate change. He explained how excessive use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides contributes to soil and water contamination and emphasized the importance of organic farming, integrated nutrient management, and integrated pest management for maintaining ecological balance.
The expert also discussed the role of agricultural biotechnology and scientific innovations in improving crop productivity while reducing environmental impact. He encouraged students to adopt eco-friendly agricultural practices and contribute actively to environmental conservation.
Students and faculty members actively participated in the lecture and engaged in an interactive discussion with the expert, raising questions related to sustainable farming and pollution control. The lecture provided valuable insights and motivated students to work towards building a cleaner and greener environment.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by the Head of Department, expressing sincere gratitude to the expert speaker for sharing his valuable knowledge and inspiring students to adopt sustainable agricultural practices. Overall it was a successful event.
