Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Sciences Celebrates International Yoga Day 2026 Promoting Healthy Ageing Through Holistic Wellness

International Yoga Day 2026
Faculty of Allied & Healthcare Sciences organised an awareness event on the occasion of International Yoga Day 2026 on 22 JUNE 2026 under the theme laid this year by World Health Organization: "Yoga for Healthy Ageing"” under the guidance of our respected Principal Sir Dr. Brijendra Nigam. The program was conducted between 09:30am to 11:00am at LT-03, FAHS, Rama University. A total of 82 students is present along with faculties Dr. Nidhi Agarwal, Dr. Nidhi Shukla, Dr. Apoorva Srivastava, Dr. Minhaj Tahir, Dr. Gulwish Sadique, Mrs. Swastika Singh Chandel, Mrs. Simmi Singh, and Mr. Satyendra Singh Sachan participated.
The event aimed to promote Yoga as an integral part of holistic healthcare and to instil the habit of daily practice among future allied health professionals
Programme Details:
Lamp Lighting: - The programme commenced with ceremonial lamp lighting by Dr. Brijendra Nigam, (Principal/ dean) Sir, and the Chief Guest Prof. Dr. Manisha Nigam, HOD of Emergency Medicine, along with all Faculties of FAHS.
Principal Sir Speech: - Principal Sir welcomed the gathering and emphasized Yoga’s role in building concentration and resilience in healthcare students.
Chief Guest Speech:- The Chief Guest addressed the importance of Yoga in preventive healthcare and reducing lifestyle disorders.
Yoga Natyam: - A graceful performance blending Yoga and classical dance by Ms. Aruna Pal, student of Diploma in Operation Technician, depicting “Yoga for Harmony”.
Faculty Yoga Asanas: - Faculty members demonstrated the Common Yoga Protocol as per Ministry of AYUSH, highlighting correct postures and breathing.
Students Yoga Asanas: - All students performed asanas and pranayama under the guidance of BPT faculty, with explanations of therapeutic benefits.
Concluding Speech: - Dr. Nidhi Agarwal delivered the vote of thanks and urged everyone to adopt Yoga as a daily practice for “Self and Society”
OUTCOMES: -
Created awareness about Yoga as a preventive and rehabilitative tool among allied health students. Encouraged inter-departmental participation and team spirit across BPT, BMLT, BOPTO, and Diploma Courses.
