Faculty of Dental Sciences Signs MoU with Hora Kachhar Village for Community Oral Health Initiative

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Rama Dental College Hospital & Research Centre, Rama University, Mandhana, Kanpur, organized a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) Signing Ceremony on 16th June 2026 at 11:00 AM in the Conference Room, Rama Dental College Hospital & Research Centre, Mandhana, Kanpur.
The MoU was signed between the Department of Public Health Dentistry and Gram Panchayat, Hora Kachhar Village, Kalyanpur Block, Tehsil of Kanpur Nagar District, Uttar Pradesh. As part of its community outreach initiative, the Department of Public Health Dentistry has adopted Hora Kachhar Village for a period of three (3) years under the community dental health program titled “Swasth Mukh – Sehat ka Aadhar.”
The ceremony commenced with a formal welcome of Dr. Asheesh K. Sawhny, Principal, Faculty of Dental Sciences, Shri Ramnarayan Verma, Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Hora Kachhar and other dignitaries and representatives from both institutions. The gathering was addressed by Dr. Nidhi Pruthi Shukla, Professor & Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry, who emphasized the importance of academic-community partnerships in improving oral health outcomes and enhancing access to preventive and promotive dental care services in rural areas. The MoU was formally signed by of Dr. Asheesh K. Sawhny, Principal, Faculty of Dental Sciences and Shri Ramnarayan Verma, Gram Pradhan, Gram Panchayat Hora Kachhar.
During the meeting, both parties discussed collaborative activities including: Community oral health screening camps and ?oral health education and awareness programs with preventive health initiatives. The signing of the MoU marks a significant step toward fostering cooperation between the academic institution and the local community. This partnership will provide opportunities for dental students and faculty to engage in community-based learning while delivering essential oral healthcare services to the residents of Hora Kachhar Village.
