Faculty of Journalism and mass communication Celebrates National Press Day with Enthusiasm and Insight

The Department of Journalism and Mass Communication at Rama University, Kanpur, recently hosted a vibrant celebration in honor of National Press Day on November 16, 2023. The event, led by Dean Dr. Niranjan Kumar, aimed to underscore the pivotal role played by the press in a democratic society.
As part of the celebration, students were tasked with creating a video exploring the role of the press in national integration. This unique initiative prompted students to engage with faculty and peers from various departments, gathering diverse opinions on the role and freedom of the press. The resulting video, presented in the ICT room, showcased a myriad of perspectives, earning applause and appreciation from the audience.
Faculty’s assistant Professor Ms. Swati gupta, Ms. Kavita Verma and Mr. avinash kumar played a pivotal role in ensuring the success of the National Press Day celebration.
Dean Dr. Niranjan Kumar commended the students for their dedication, urging them to pursue excellence in journalism and mass communication. The event concluded with a gracious vote of thanks from Assistant Professor Ms. Swati Gupta, expressing gratitude to all participants, faculty members, and the organizing team for their contributions. This event serves as a testament to the department's commitment to nurturing responsible and ethical media professionals.
