Faculty of Juridical Sciences Organises Orientation Programme on Legal Careers and Professional Development

The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur, organised an Orientation Programme for newly enrolled students with the objective of familiarising them with the academic environment, institutional ethos, professional opportunities, and avenues for holistic development. The programme also provided students with valuable exposure to diverse career pathways and professional expectations in the legal, administrative, and banking sectors.
The programme was graced by Mr. Rahul Kumar Gupta, Assistant Labour Commissioner, and Mr. Rohit Gupta, Senior Manager, Central Bank of India, as distinguished guests and resource persons. Mr. Rahul Kumar Gupta shared valuable insights from his professional journey in labour administration and highlighted the importance of legal knowledge, professional competence, discipline, and ethical responsibility in building a successful career in the legal and public-service domains. Mr. Rohit Gupta discussed career opportunities in the banking and financial sector and emphasised the significance of communication skills, adaptability, leadership, perseverance, and continuous learning for professional growth. His achievements as a para-athlete further served as an inspiring example of determination, resilience, and commitment to excellence.
The expert interaction enabled the newly enrolled students to gain a broader understanding of career opportunities after legal education, including opportunities in litigation, judicial services, corporate and banking sectors, government services, regulatory institutions, legal compliance, and other emerging professional avenues. The speakers encouraged students to develop a strong academic foundation alongside practical skills, professional ethics, effective communication, and a problem-solving approach.
The programme was attended by senior members of the University, including Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences; Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Head of Department, Faculty of Juridical Sciences; Dr. Veer Vikram Bahadur, Head, Research & Development; and Dr. Manu Kaushik, Dean, Mass Communications. The dignitaries extended a warm welcome to the newly enrolled students and encouraged them to actively participate in academic, co-curricular, research, internship, and professional development activities.
