Faculty of Juridical Sciences Organizes Debate on Women Empowerment and Justice

The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, successfully organized a Debate Competition on 18 February 2026 on the theme “Empowered Women, Empower the Nation.” The programme was conducted under the esteemed guidance of Dr. Praveen Mall, Dean, Law, and Riddhi Tripathi, Head of Department, with Nivedita Rai serving as the Convenor.
The event was designed to foster awareness and critical engagement with the concept of women empowerment from a juridical and constitutional perspective, while simultaneously enhancing advocacy, reasoning, and analytical skills among law students. The initiative reflects the Faculty’s commitment to integrating contemporary socio-legal issues with experiential legal education.
The programme was organized with the following academic objectives:
- To analyze women empowerment through constitutional mandates and legal frameworks.
- To create awareness regarding gender equality and statutory safeguards available to women.
- To encourage critical thinking, research orientation, and structured legal argumentation.
- To highlight the transformative role of law in advancing women’s rights and national development.
Participation and Academic Engagement
The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 50 students across various law programmes, including B.A. LL.B. and B.B.A. LL.B. The active engagement of students demonstrated the Faculty’s vibrant intellectual culture and its emphasis on dialogue-based learning.
The smooth coordination and successful execution of the programme were significantly supported by the Student Coordinators:

Their organizational efforts ensured effective management of participants and contributed to maintaining academic discipline throughout the event.
Results of the Competition
Upon comprehensive evaluation by the adjudicating panel, based on parameters such as depth of legal research, constitutional analysis, coherence of arguments, presentation skills, and clarity of articulation, the results of the competition were declared as follows:
- Winner: Kumari Meenu (BA LL.B., 1st Year)
- First Runner-Up: Arsh (BA LL.B., 1st Semester)
- Second Runner-Up: Samarth Dubey (BA LL.B., 1st Semester)
The awardees were highly appreciated for their analytical rigor, structured legal reasoning, and persuasive advocacy, demonstrating a sound understanding of the constitutional ethos and the jurisprudential dimensions of women empowerment.
