Faculty of Juridical Sciences Organizes Legal Awareness Programme on Free Legal Aid and Justice

The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur, organised a Legal Awareness Programme titled “Free Legal Aid – Know Your Rights, Access Justice” on 01 September 2026 at 03:00 PM at the Seminar Hall, VC Building. The programme was organised with the objective of creating awareness about the importance of free legal aid and access to justice, particularly among individuals and communities who may face financial or social barriers in obtaining legal assistance. The programme also highlighted the role of legal aid institutions in ensuring equal access to justice and promoting legal empowerment.
The session provided participants with an opportunity to understand the concept of free legal aid, eligibility for legal assistance, and the basic process of approaching appropriate legal aid authorities.
Objectives
The major objectives of the programme were:
