A Law Students' Community Outreach Programme
The Free Legal Aid Club organized a legal awareness programme titled “CHETNA-2025” on 06th October 2025 under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, and coordinated by Mr. Rahul Singh.
The primary objective of CHETNA was to create legal awareness among the general public, especially the underprivileged and marginalized communities, about their basic legal rights and the availability of free legal aid services. This initiative aimed to bridge the gap between law and society by empowering individuals with the knowledge to protect themselves against injustice.
As part of the programme, law students conducted interactive sessions on several key legal topics, including:
- Fundamental Rights under the Constitution of India
- Right to Free Legal Aid under the Legal Services Authorities Act
- Rights of Women and Children
- Labour Rights and protection against exploitation
- Right to Education and Health
- Consumer Rights
To make the information accessible and impactful, pamphlets and handouts were distributed in simple language, helping people easily understand their rights and the remedies available under the law.
The CHETNA-2025 legal awareness programme successfully fulfilled its aim of spreading legal knowledge among the masses. It reinforced the significance of legal literacy as a powerful tool for social empowerment. The dedication and active involvement of law students played a crucial role in making the event impactful and meaningful.
This initiative stands as a model of socially responsible legal education and highlights the power of student-led legal outreach in transforming communities and promoting access to justice.
