Legal Alumni Talk 2026: Bridging Academia and Practice
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, successfully organised Alumni Talk 2026 on the theme “A Journey from Classroom to Courtroom.” On 15 April 2026. The event was conducted under the able guidance of Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, Registrar, Rama University and Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean-FJS
The session was graced by Mr. Prabhat Ranjan, Registrar, along with distinguished faculty members including Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Dr. Kaneez Fatima, Programme Coordinator, and Ms. Pragya Agrawal, an esteemed alumna and accomplished legal professional. Ms. Agrawal shared her inspiring journey from being a law student to establishing herself in the courtroom. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students of B.A. LL.B. and LL.B. programmes, along with faculty members, making it a vibrant and engaging academic interaction.
The primary objectives of the Alumni Talk were:
- To provide students with practical exposure to the legal profession.
- To guide students regarding career opportunities in litigation and allied fields.
- To motivate students through real-life experiences of a successful alumna.
- To enhance understanding of the transition from academic life to professional practice.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the guest and participants. The university premises reflected enthusiasm and active engagement, with students showing keen interest in exploring legal career pathways.
During her session, Ms. Pragya Agrawal elaborated on:
- Challenges faced during the initial years of litigation
- Importance of internships, mooting, and research work
- Courtroom etiquette, drafting skills, and advocacy techniques
- The role of perseverance, discipline, and continuous learning in legal practice
She emphasised that the transition from classroom learning to courtroom practice requires not only strong theoretical knowledge but also practical skills, confidence, and a high degree of professional ethics.
The session was highly interactive, featuring an engaging question-and-answer segment. Students actively raised queries related to internships, litigation practice, judicial services, and corporate law, all of which were thoughtfully addressed by the speaker.
The Alumni Talk 2026 proved to be a highly enriching and inspiring experience for students. It successfully fulfilled its objective of guiding budding legal professionals and preparing them for real-world challenges.
