Faculty of Nursing Celebrates International Nurses Day 2026 Honouring Dedication Compassion and Excellence in Healthcare

The Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur celebrated International Nurses Day 2026 with great enthusiasm, dignity, and cultural spirit in the university auditorium. The celebration was organized under the theme “Our Nurses. Our Future. Empowered Nurses Save Lives.” The program was conducted to honour the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contribution of nurses toward society and healthcare services.
The celebration commenced in the morning with a warm and heartfelt welcome extended by the students to all the nurses of the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University. The atmosphere of the auditorium was filled with excitement and respect as students greeted the dignitaries, faculty members and nursing professionals with appreciation and gratitude.
The formal inauguration of the program was carried out in the esteemed presence of Honourable Vice chancellor Dr. Amarnath BJ, Rama University, Dr. Nalinikanth Sahu, Dean, Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences, Dr. Anita Yadav, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural & Allied Sciences, Dr. Sujatha, Principal, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing and Dr. Minu S.R., Vice Principal, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University. All Heads of Departments, faculty members from various departments of Rama University and students were also present during the celebration, making the occasion highly memorable and prestigious.
The program began with the ceremonial inauguration and lamp lighting followed by a graceful invocation. A warm welcome speech was delivered to greet the dignitaries, guests, faculty members and students. During the celebration, the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor of the Rama university, Dr. Amarnath BJ, delivered an inspiring address appreciating the dedication, compassion, and invaluable contribution of nurses toward healthcare services and patient wellbeing. The gathering was then addressed by Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, In her speech, she highlighted the importance of nursing professionals in strengthening healthcare systems and encouraged students to uphold the values of compassion, dedication, and professional excellence in nursing practice.
One of the major attractions of the celebration was the Procedural Dance Competition, where students creatively presented various nursing procedures through expressive dance performances. The performances beautifully combined nursing knowledge with cultural expression and showcased the students’ talents, teamwork, and innovative presentation skills. The audience appreciated the efforts and creativity demonstrated by the participants.
During the celebration, the Best clinical performer Awards-2026 were presented to dedicated and deserving students from various nursing programs in recognition of their academic excellence, discipline, clinical performance, leadership qualities, and commitment toward the nursing profession. The awardees included:

The winners of the Day-1 Elocution Competition were also honoured for their outstanding communication skills, confidence, and thought-provoking presentations. In addition, prizes and certificates were distributed to the winners and participants of the Procedural Dance Competition in appreciation of their remarkable performances and active participation.
The celebration further continued with vibrant cultural performances presented by the students. Dance performances, musical events, and other cultural activities added joy and enthusiasm to the occasion and reflected the unity, creativity, and spirit of the nursing students.
The program concluded with a heartfelt vote of thanks expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, management, faculty members, organizing committee, participants, and students for making the event successful. The celebration finally came to an end with the National Anthem, leaving everyone inspired and proud of the nursing profession.
