Faculty of Nursing Organizes Painting Competition Showcasing India's Journey from Independence to Vision 2047 Together

The Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, organized a Painting Competition on 11 July 2026 from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM in the Seminar Hall, as part of the Independence Day Celebration – 2026, an initiative of the Ministry of Defence in association with MyGov and MY Bharat. The event was conducted to commemorate India's journey of independence and to inspire students to envision the nation's future through the medium of art. The competition revolved around the thought-provoking theme “(India 1947 VS India 2047)”, encouraging participants to compare the achievements of independent India with the aspirations of a developed India by the year 2047.
The programme commenced with a warm welcome to the participants and an introductory address highlighting the significance of India's Independence Day and the vision of Viksit Bharat 2047. The organizing committee briefed the participants about the competition guidelines, judging criteria, and the importance of portraying the transformation of India over the past century. Students were encouraged to use their creativity and imagination to depict India's rich cultural heritage, scientific achievements, technological progress, social development, environmental sustainability, women's empowerment, education, healthcare, and future aspirations.
The competition witnessed enthusiastic participation from the students of the Rama University. Participants displayed exceptional artistic talent and creativity by presenting meaningful paintings that beautifully illustrated India's remarkable journey from 1947 to 2047. Several artworks portrayed the sacrifices of freedom fighters, the nation's democratic values, advancements in science and technology, Digital India, space exploration, sustainable development, healthcare innovations, rural development, gender equality, and the collective dream of making India a self-reliant and developed nation. The paintings reflected not only technical artistic skills but also a deep understanding of patriotism, national unity, and responsible citizenship.
Throughout the competition, the Seminar Hall was filled with an atmosphere of enthusiasm, creativity, and healthy competition. Participants worked with dedication and focus, transforming their ideas into vibrant visual expressions. Faculty members and organizers actively supervised the event, ensuring that all participants received equal opportunities and that the competition was conducted smoothly, fairly, and in accordance with the prescribed guidelines. The event encouraged students to think critically about India's past achievements while imagining innovative solutions for the country's future challenges.
Following the completion of the competition, all participating students logged in to the MyGov and MY Bharat portals and uploaded photographs of their paintings as part of the official submission process for the Independence Day Celebration – 2026 initiative. This digital submission enabled the students to showcase their creative work on a national platform while contributing to the Government of India's vision of promoting youth participation, patriotism, and artistic expression.
The Painting Competition successfully fulfilled its objective of promoting patriotism, creativity, critical thinking, and awareness about India's transformational journey from independence to the vision of a developed nation by 2047. The event served as a meaningful platform for students to express their hopes and aspirations for a stronger, progressive, inclusive, and self-reliant India, making it a memorable and inspiring part of the Independence Day Celebration – 2026.
