Faculty of Nursing, Rama University Empowers Maternal Health on National Safe Motherhood Day

In commemoration of National Safe Motherhood Day on April 11, the Faculty of Nursing at Rama University hosted a pivotal workshop on "Obstetric Emergencies" aimed at safeguarding the health of mothers and infants amidst the ongoing challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic.
Led by the esteemed Prof. Pinky Devi, Head of Obstetrics & Gynaecological Nursing at Era College of Nursing, Era University, Lucknow, the workshop witnessed enthusiastic participation from over 200 attendees including students from various nursing programs. Held at the Seminar Hall of the Faculty of Nursing, the event provided comprehensive insights into managing obstetric emergencies such as Ante-partum Haemorrhage, Post-partum Haemorrhage, Obstetric Shock, and Shoulder Dystocia.
Under the guidance of Prof. Devi, attendees were equipped with essential knowledge and skills for handling emergency situations during pregnancy and childbirth. Through skilful demonstrations and interactive sessions, participants gained practical experience in antenatal assessments, intra-natal and post-natal care, ensuring optimal outcomes for both mothers and infants.
Dr. Jasmi Manu, Dean of the Faculty of Nursing, expressed gratitude for the invaluable expertise shared by Prof. Devi and emphasized the significance of continuous learning in enhancing maternal healthcare practices.
The workshop concluded with a dynamic question and answer session, providing attendees with the opportunity to further deepen their understanding of obstetric care. As the event drew to a close, students offered valuable feedback, underscoring the importance of such initiatives in promoting maternal well-being.
