In compliance with the directions issued under the "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan", the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries (FASAI), Rama University, Kanpur, organized a Nasha Mukti Awareness Session and Online Pledge Campaign on 31 July 2026. The programme was conducted with the objective of promoting a drug-free lifestyle among youth and encouraging their active participation in the national mission of building a Nasha-Mukt Bharat.
The awareness session was organized in the classrooms, where faculty members sensitized students to the harmful effects of substance abuse on individuals, families, and society. Emphasis was laid on the importance of making healthy life choices, resisting peer pressure, and contributing towards the vision of a developed and addiction-free India.
As per the campaign guidelines, the official "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat Abhiyan" poster was displayed on the interactive panel/smart board during the session. Faculty members explained the objectives of the nationwide campaign initiated by the Ministry to connect one crore youth with the online pledge movement by 1 August 2026, thereby strengthening the collective commitment towards a drug-free nation.
Following the awareness session, students were encouraged to visit the My Bharat Portal and take the online Nasha Mukti Pledge. Faculty members guided students through the pledge process and motivated them to become ambassadors of a healthy, responsible, and addiction-free society by spreading awareness within their families and communities.
The programme witnessed enthusiastic participation from students and faculty members, who collectively reaffirmed their commitment to abstain from all forms of substance abuse and to support the national mission of "Nasha Mukt Yuva for Viksit Bharat." The event successfully strengthened awareness regarding the social, physical, and psychological consequences of addiction while inspiring students to contribute actively towards the vision of Viksit Bharat through responsible citizenship and healthy living.
The Faculty of Agricultural Sciences & Allied Industries remains committed to organizing such awareness initiatives that foster ethical values, healthy lifestyles, and social responsibility among students, in alignment with national development goals.
