FET Organises Expert Talk on Education, Technology, Innovation and Responsible Digital Citizenship for Students

Faculty of Engineering and Technology welcomed its newly admitted students at Deeksharambh 2026, the Orientation Programme held on 22nd August 2026 at the Seminar Hall, FET. The programme commenced with lighting of the ceremonial lamp in the graceful presence of our special guest Mr. Kaustubh Omar, respected Dean, FET, Dr. Abhay Shukla, the HoDs of all the departments including Dr. Deeksha Ranjan, Dr. Vivek Srivastava, Dr. Samakshi Verma, Dr. Narendra Kumar, Mr. Satish Parihar, Dr. Dileep Kumar and faculty members.
As part of the Orientation Programme 2026-27, an insightful Expert Talk was conducted by FET for the students of the Faculty of Engineering and Technology. Mr. Kaustubh Omar, President of STEM Infinity Lab, Secretary of Vigyan Bharati, Brahmavart, Uttar Pradesh, infused the gathering through his profound knowledge and prolific words.
During the session, Mr. Omar discussed the evolution of the Indian education system by highlighting the traditional Gurukul system and the impact of Lord Macaulay’s educational framework. He sensitized students about the responsible use of mobile phones and social media platforms that emphasized digital awareness and privacy concerns, including how mobile devices can collect and process personal information.
The session further introduced students to NITI Aayog, Atal Innovation Mission and Atal Tinkering Labs along with the growing ecosystem of start-ups and unicorn companies in India. He also provided an engaging introduction to robots, their major components, drones, the web and the dark web that helped students understand emerging technologies and their real-world applications.
A major highlight of the session was the live demonstration of DIY STEM models, robotics kits and innovative devices which encouraged students to explore hands-on learning, creativity and problem-solving. Through his engaging talk and practical demonstrations, Mr. Omar motivated students to think innovatively, develop scientific temperament and actively participate in STEM-based learning and innovation.
The expert talk was highly interactive and inspiring, leaving students with valuable insights into education, technology, innovation, entrepreneurship and responsible digital citizenship.
