Free Legal Aid Club Conducts World Day Against Trafficking Legal Awareness Programme Successfully

The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur, through its Free Legal Aid Club, successfully organized a Legal Awareness Programme on the occasion of World Day Against Trafficking in Persons on 30 July 2026 at NGO ASHA, Tatiyaganj, Kanpur.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, and the initiative of Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Head of the Department, with the objective of creating awareness about human trafficking, constitutional and legal rights, victim protection mechanisms, and the remedies available under Indian law. The programme aimed to promote legal literacy, strengthen community awareness, and encourage the timely reporting of trafficking-related offences.
The programme was coordinated by Mr. Rahul Singh and Ms. Diksha, Coordinators of the Free Legal Aid Club, with active participation from Priyanshi Singh, Vijayant Bajpai, Abhijeet Chaudhary, Lavanya Sharma, and Sunny Kumar, whose dedicated efforts contributed to the successful conduct of the awareness campaign.
During the programme, the team interacted with the beneficiaries of NGO ASHA, Tatiyaganj, Kanpur, and sensitized them to the meaning and various forms of human trafficking, indicators of exploitation, rights of victims, available legal safeguards under Indian law, and the role of community vigilance in prevention. The participants were also informed about the importance of reporting suspected trafficking cases to the appropriate authorities and the availability of legal aid and victim support mechanisms, thereby reinforcing access to justice and legal empowerment within the community.
