Ganesh Mahotsav 2026: Two-Day Celebration of Devotion, Culture, Community Spirit and Traditional Values

Introduction
Rama Medical College, Hospital and Research Centre, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, organized a devotional and cultural programme on the auspicious occasion of Ganesh Chaturthi from 14th to 15th September 2026 at the Auditorium. The celebration was organized with the blessings of Lord Ganesha and witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, faculty members and staff.
The two-day celebration included Ganesh Sthapana, Pooja, Aarti, Prasad Distribution, Bhandara and Visarjan, creating an atmosphere of devotion, positivity and togetherness across the university campus.
Objectives
- To celebrate Ganesh Chaturthi with traditional rituals and devotion.
- To promote Indian cultural and spiritual values among students and staff.
- To provide an opportunity for collective prayer and participation.
- To foster unity, harmony and a sense of community within the university.
Ganesh Sthapana
The programme commenced with the Sthapana of Lord Ganesha at the Auditorium Ground. The idol was ceremonially installed in accordance with traditional rituals. The Sthapana ceremony was accompanied by chanting of devotional mantras and Aarti and prayers seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha for the prosperity, peace and well-being of the university community.
Pooja and Aarti
Following the Sthapana, a special Ganesh Pooja and Aarti were performed. Students, faculty members and staff participated enthusiastically in the religious ceremonies. Devotional prayers were offered to Lord Ganesha, seeking wisdom, success, prosperity and the removal of obstacles.
The spiritual ambience of the venue was enhanced by devotional chants and the participation of the university community.
Prasad and Bhandara
As part of the celebration, Prasad distribution and Bhandara were organized. Students, faculty members and staff participated in the community meal with devotion and enthusiasm. The Bhandara reflected the values of seva, sharing, compassion and community bonding.
Ganesh Visarjan
On the concluding day, the Ganesh Visarjan ceremony was performed with traditional rituals and prayers. The idol of Lord Ganesha was respectfully taken for Visarjan amidst devotional chants and participation of the university community.
The ceremony concluded with prayers for the continued blessings of Lord Ganesha and for the peace, prosperity and success of the university.
Outcome
The Ganesh Chaturthi celebration successfully brought together students, faculty members and staff in an atmosphere of devotion, cultural participation and unity. The programme provided an opportunity for the university community to experience and participate in traditional rituals while strengthening the spirit of togetherness.
The activities of Sthapana, Pooja, Aarti, Prasad Distribution, Bhandara and Visarjan made the two-day celebration meaningful and memorable.
