The Inaugural Ceremony of the 2nd International Conference on “Global Nurses: United Voices” was held on 11th December 2025 at the Rama University Auditorium, unfolding with remarkable grace, academic depth, and ceremonial splendour. Organized by the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, the event brought together a vibrant assembly of scholars, educators, healthcare professionals, students, and international participants. The auditorium resonated with a spirit of unity, intellectual enthusiasm, and shared purpose as the delegates gathered to celebrate global nursing excellence.
The ceremony was elevated by the honourable presence of distinguished dignitaries whose participation added dignity and pride to the occasion. The event was graced by the esteemed Chief Guest, Ms. Arathi Rohila Noronha, Centre for Midwifery education, The Coombe women & Infants University Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, whose international experience, inspiring professional journey, and compassionate leadership in midwifery brought profound relevance to the conference theme. Alongside her, the ceremony was attended by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Dr. Amaranath B. J., Controller of Examinations Dr. R. K. Yadav, CMO of Rama Hospital & Research Centre Lt. Col. Dr. Siddharth Mani, Principal of Rama Medical College Dr. Sujatha, Dean/Principal of Rama College of Nursing Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dr.Vaishali Dingre, Dean IQAC, RU, Dr.Ajay Kumar, Dean Academics, RU, Dr.Dipti Shukla, Principal, Samarpan Institute of paramedical sciences, Lucknow , Dr .Naveena J.H Professor cum Principal Govt. College of Nursing, Kanpur, Vice Principal Dr. Minu S. R.and all Deans and Principals representing various institutions of Rama University. Their collective presence reflected a strong academic foundation and institutional unity.
The programme commenced with the dignified arrival of the guests, followed by a serene and symbolic lamp lighting ceremony. The gentle glow of the ceremonial lamp illuminated the auditorium, signifying purity, knowledge, and the beginning of an intellectually enriching experience. This moment set a harmonious tone for the day, reminding the gathering of the sacred purpose of education and the noble service embodied in the nursing profession.
A warm and heartfelt welcome address was delivered by Dr. Minu S. R., who extended her sincere greetings to the dignitaries, delegates, and participants from various regions. Her words expressed gratitude, pride, and hope, acknowledging the importance of global collaboration in advancing nursing leadership.
The unveiling of the conference theme by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor, Dr. Amaranath B. J., marked a significant moment in the ceremony. His articulation of “Global Nurses: United Voices” emphasized unity beyond borders, the shared responsibility of healthcare professionals, and the vital need for collective efforts to strengthen global health systems. His reflections inspired the audience to embrace a sense of purpose and global citizenship.
This was followed by insightful introductory remarks from Dr. Jasmi Johnson, who highlighted the dynamic and evolving role of nurses in shaping healthcare outcomes worldwide. She highlighted that this conference is awarded with 10 CNE hours from INC and 30hrs that is 6 credit points from UPSMF. She emphasized the need for continuous learning, research engagement, and professional empowerment, aligning seamlessly with the vision of the conference.
The Presidential Address by the Hon’ble Vice Chancellor added intellectual depth and motivational strength to the ceremony. He encouraged the participants to cultivate innovation, leadership qualities, and compassionate practice. His address underscored the importance of research-driven education and collaboration in addressing modern healthcare challenges.
A significant highlight of the ceremony was the release of the conference souvenir by the dignitaries. This symbolic moment represented the collective academic contributions, scholarly efforts, and the milestone achievements of the organizing committee. It also reflected the conference’s commitment to documentation, dissemination, and celebration of knowledge.
The most awaited moment of the ceremony was the enlightening address by the Chief Guest, Ms. Noronha. With over 31 years of midwifery and educational leadership, she has spearheaded advanced training programs that strengthen maternity care. A highly experienced midwifery educator and clinician with three decades of leadership in clinical practice, program development, and training delivery. She has coordinated numerous evidence-based educational initiatives across Dublin’s maternity services. Her expertise spans curriculum design, clinical management, and multidisciplinary coordination, contributing significantly to quality improvement and professional development in midwifery. Her speech resonated with depth, clarity, and global perspective. She spoke passionately about midwifery practice, maternal and newborn healthcare, and the transformative role of nurses in uplifting communities across the world. Her message emphasized compassion, competence, and advocacy, leaving a profound impact on the audience. Her presence added international prestige and enriched the academic spirit of the conference.
The ceremony concluded with a graceful Vote of Thanks delivered by Mrs. K. Jyothisree, Associate Professor, who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all dignitaries, organizing committee members, faculty, delegates, volunteers, and participants. She acknowledged the collective effort and teamwork that ensured the success of the inaugural ceremony. Overall, the inaugural ceremony stood as a remarkable celebration of unity, scholarship, collaboration, and global nursing leadership. It reflected the essence of shared learning and the collective aspiration to strengthen healthcare systems worldwide.
