Cultural Competitions Organized on the Auspicious Occasion of Saptami of Navratri at Rama University
The vibrant celebration of “Bhavya Navdurga Utsav” was successfully organized on 25 March 2026 marking the auspicious Saptami of Navratri at the Auditorium of Rama University with great enthusiasm and active participation from students across various faculties. The event aimed to celebrate the spirit of Navdurga while providing a platform for students to showcase their talent, creativity, and cultural expression. The programme also encouraged unity, cultural appreciation, and collaborative participation among students of the university.
The programme commenced with the traditional welcome of the dignitaries and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, symbolizing the removal of darkness and the spread of knowledge and positivity. The presence of respected Deans, faculty members, and students added grace and significance to the occasion. The auditorium was filled with students, creating a lively and energetic atmosphere throughout the programme.
A beautifully decorated Durga idol and floral arrangements set the spiritual tone for the celebration. The anchoring of the programme was conducted by enthusiastic student anchors who managed the event smoothly and kept the audience engaged.
The event featured a variety of cultural competitions that highlighted the artistic and creative talents of students. The Group Dance Competition mesmerized the audience with energetic performances based on devotional and cultural themes related to Goddess Durga. The Singing Competition showcased melodious devotional and cultural songs dedicated to the divine feminine energy. The Musical Skit Competition added a dramatic and entertaining element to the event. Students creatively combined acting, music, and storytelling.The Ramp Show Competition brought glamour and creativity to the stage. Students confidently walked the ramp presenting traditional and thematic attire inspired by the nine forms of Goddess Durga. All performances were carefully evaluated by the panel of judges based on predefined criteria such as creativity, presentation, coordination, confidence, stage presence, and overall impact. The judges appreciated the efforts and dedication of the students and congratulated them for their outstanding performances.
At the end of the event, the winners and runners-up of each competition were awarded trophies and certificates as a token of recognition and encouragement. The audience applauded the participants for their remarkable performances.The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to the respected dignitaries, judges, faculty members, organizing committee, volunteers, and students whose collective efforts made the event a grand success.
