11 Dec 2025
An industrial visit on Children’s Day was conducted by the Department of Biotechnology, Faculty of Engineering & Technology, Rama University, Kanpur, at Namaste India Foods Private Ltd., Shivrajpur (Kanpur) on 14/11/2025. The visit involved students from B.Tech Biotechnology (V & VII semester), B.Sc Biotechnology (V semester), and M.Sc Biotechnology (III semester). The visit’s primary aim was to acquaint students with key operations such as milk procurement, cold chain logistics, quality testing, pasteurisation, and home delivery. During the tour, they observed processes involved in the processing and packaging of milk and its derivatives — including butter, ghee, and paneer.
Students engaged with Mr Kaushal Kishore (HR) and Mr Saurabh Rai (Deputy Manager, asking detailed questions about manufacturing, packaging, marketing, and the role of biotechnology in dairy industries. Mr Vibhav Shukla and his team guided the students throughout, clarifying their doubts and emphasising the importance of public awareness about biotech applications in dairy.
The visit was organised by Dr Mahjabin (Assistant Professor, Department of Biotechnology) and accompanied by Dr Vivek Srivastava (Head of Department, Biotechnology). Overall, the experience was highly productive: students gained practical insights into food biotechnology and how their academic knowledge applies in an industrial setting — a meaningful step toward their professional development.
