The second day of the International Women’s Day Celebration 2026, organized by the Faculty of Nursing, Rama University, was conducted with great enthusiasm and dignity under the inspiring theme “Bharati – Nari to Narayani.” The celebration aimed to recognize the strength, wisdom, and transformative power of women while highlighting their invaluable contributions to society. The event brought together distinguished dignitaries, faculty members, and students in a meaningful gathering that celebrated women’s empowerment, leadership, and achievements.
The program commenced with the graceful gathering of dignitaries at 9:30 AM, followed by the Radiance of Enlightenment Lamp Lighting Ceremony, symbolizing knowledge, positivity, and empowerment. The ceremony was graciously inaugurated by Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing; Dr. Anitha Yadav, Dean, Faculty of Agricultural and Allied Health Industries; and Dr. R. Sujatha, Principal, Faculty of Medical Sciences, along with esteemed female faculty members and Heads of Departments from various faculties of the university. Their presence added great prestige and inspiration to the celebration.
Following the inauguration, the program continued with a beautiful Invocation Dance, which created a graceful and auspicious beginning for the event. This was followed by the Welcome Address, where the importance of International Women’s Day and the significance of the theme “Bharati – Nari to Narayani” were highlighted, emphasizing the journey of women from being nurturers and caregivers to becoming strong leaders, innovators, and change makers in society.
The gathering was further enriched by the Presidential Address delivered by Prof. Dr. Jasmi Johnson, Dean, Faculty of Nursing, who spoke about the importance of recognizing women’s achievements and empowering young minds to contribute towards a more inclusive and progressive society.
One of the major highlights of the event was the Panel Discussion, held from 10:20 AM to 11:20 AM, which served as a platform for intellectual exchange and meaningful dialogue on women’s empowerment, leadership, and societal progress. The session was effectively moderated by Mrs. K. Jyothisree, Associate Professor and HOD of MSN, Faculty of Nursing.

The panelists shared valuable insights and perspectives based on their professional experiences, discussing the evolving role of women in leadership, professional growth, education, healthcare, and social transformation. Their thoughtful discussions inspired students and faculty members, encouraging them to recognize and support women’s empowerment in every sphere of life.
Following the panel discussion, the felicitation of keynote speakers and panelists was conducted as a token of appreciation for their valuable contributions and participation in the event. During this session, the winners of the Poster Making Competition and Visual Biography Competition, conducted on the previous day as part of the International Women’s Day celebrations, were also felicitated and honored with trophies and certificates of appreciation. This recognition served as encouragement for students who had demonstrated exceptional creativity, knowledge, and dedication in portraying the inspiring journeys and achievements of remarkable women personalities. Adding vibrancy and enthusiasm to the celebration, the Cultural Events Showcase was organized, where students enthusiastically presented performances reflecting creativity, cultural richness, and admiration for women’s strength and achievements.
The celebration concluded with the Vote of Thanks, expressing sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, panelists, faculty members, organizing committee, and student participants for their valuable presence and contributions. The program ended with the National Anthem, leaving everyone with a sense of pride, inspiration, and commitment toward promoting women’s empowerment and equality in society.
