Law Students Observe World Consumer Rights Day
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences organized an Awareness Programme on the occasion of World Consumer Rights Day on 16 March 2026 with the objective of creating awareness among students about consumer rights and the legal remedies available to consumers.The programme was conducted under the able guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences.
The initiative was taken by Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Head of the Department, who emphasized the importance of educating students about consumer protection laws and their practical relevance in everyday life. The main objective of the programme was to make students aware of the rights of consumers, the importance of consumer protection, and the remedies available under consumer laws. Final year law students actively participated in the programme and shared valuable insights regarding consumer awareness and the benefits available to consumers under the law.
The programme was coordinated by Dr. V. V. B. Singh, Faculty Coordinator, who facilitated the smooth conduct of the event and encouraged students to actively engage in discussions related to consumer rights and responsibilities.
Approximately 100 students participated in the programme. The session proved to be informative and beneficial as it enhanced the students’ understanding of consumer rights, grievance redressal mechanisms, and the role of legal professionals in protecting consumer interests.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, appreciating the efforts of the faculty members and students for their active participation in making the awareness programme successful.
