Rama University organized a Legal Awareness Programme on the Flag Code of India, 2002, on 11 August 2026, as part of the nationwide “Har Ghar Tiranga Campaign – 2026.” The programme aimed to deepen participants’ connection with the National Flag while creating awareness about the legal, constitutional, and ceremonial principles governing its display and use.
The session familiarized students and faculty members with the Flag Code of India, 2002, highlighting the importance of treating the National Flag with dignity and respect. Participants were introduced to the evolution of the Flag Code, its constitutional significance, and its role in regulating the proper display, handling, and use of the Tricolour.
Special emphasis was placed on the do’s and don’ts of flag hoisting, including appropriate occasions for displaying the National Flag, its correct positioning, proper folding and storage, and the legal implications of disrespectful or improper use. The programme thereby transformed the spirit of national celebration into an important exercise in legal awareness and civic responsibility.
The programme was conducted under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall, Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences; Dr. Deeksha Ranjan, HoD, Department of Applied Sciences & Humanities; and Prof. Vipin A., HoD, Faculty of Nursing. The programme concluded with participants developing a deeper understanding of the legal sanctity and dignity associated with the National Flag and reaffirming their commitment to uphold its honour. Through such initiatives under the “Har Ghar Tiranga” Campaign, Rama University continues to promote informed citizenship, legal literacy, patriotism, and responsible civic engagement, while reinforcing the Faculty of Juridical Sciences’ commitment to connecting legal education with societal awareness.
