Event overview :MAXTRAUM’26 was a specialized academic and hands-on workshop focused on advancing knowledge and surgical skills in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. The event brought together leading national faculty and participants for an intensive learning experience combining theoretical knowledge with practical exposure including students from Rama University and other institutions. It featured lectures by renowned experts, hands-on workshops, cadaveric dissections, and live surgeries.
Day 1 (3rd April 2026) focuses on comprehensive maxillofacial trauma management. It begins with primary assessment, followed by emergency surgical essentials including airway management (intubation, cricothyroidotomy, tracheotomy), chest drain, and carotid ligation demonstrations. Sessions cover diagnostic modalities and surgical access to facial fractures with approaches like coronal, transconjunctival, preauricular, and submandibular. Post-lunch topics include management pearls for mandible, maxilla, and zygomatico-orbital fractures. The day concludes with hands-on trauma skill training on models. The program is organized by the Department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery with key academic and clinical experts contributing to lectures and demonstrations.
Day 02 (4th April 2026) focuses on comprehensive management of maxillofacial trauma. The schedule includes lectures on nasoethmoidal fracture management, planning and sequencing of panfacial fractures, and facial soft tissue management with neck trauma. A session on complications of NOE, orbit, condyle, and panfacial ORIF with their management is followed by a group discussion. The afternoon features cadaver dissection hands-on training, providing practical exposure to surgical access for mandibular, maxillary, nasoethmoidal, and coronal approaches. The program integrates theoretical knowledge with clinical application, guided by multiple expert faculty from oral and maxillofacial surgery, ensuring a well-rounded academic and practical learning experience.
