As a part of the orientation programme for the MBA First Year students, an industrial visit to Namaste India Dairy was organized to provide students with practical exposure to the dairy industry and to help them understand the functioning of a real business organization. The visit was conducted and organized by Mr. Gurmeet Singh under the valuable guidance of Dr. Indu Shukla.
The industrial visit was an enriching learning experience for the students, as it provided an opportunity to connect classroom concepts with real-world business practices. During the visit, students were introduced to various aspects of dairy production, processing, packaging, quality control, supply chain management, marketing, and distribution. The visit helped students understand how different departments work together to ensure the smooth functioning of a dairy organization.
The students observed the various stages involved in the processing of milk and dairy products. They gained an understanding of how raw milk is collected, tested for quality, processed, and converted into different dairy products. The importance of hygiene, cleanliness, temperature control, and quality standards in the dairy industry was also explained to the students. This practical exposure helped them appreciate the importance of maintaining quality at every stage of production.
The visit also provided valuable insights into management practices followed in the organization. MBA students were able to relate their academic learning in areas such as operations management, human resource management, marketing, finance, and supply chain management to actual industrial practices. They learned how proper planning, coordination, teamwork, and effective decision-making contribute to organizational efficiency and productivity.
One of the major highlights of the visit was the interaction between the students and the officials and staff of Namaste India Dairy. The students had the opportunity to ask questions and clarify their doubts regarding the dairy business, production processes, market competition, customer preferences, and distribution systems. Such interaction encouraged the students to think beyond theoretical knowledge and develop a better understanding of the challenges and opportunities present in the industry.
The visit also emphasized the importance of technology and innovation in the modern dairy sector. Students learned how advanced machinery and systematic processes help organizations maintain consistency, efficiency, and product quality. They understood that businesses need to continuously improve their processes and adapt to changing customer expectations in order to remain competitive in the market.
The industrial visit was not only academically beneficial but also helped students develop professional awareness. It encouraged them to observe organizational practices, communicate with professionals, work as a team, and understand the responsibilities involved in a professional environment. The experience also gave students a broader perspective on career opportunities available in the dairy and FMCG sectors.
