Mission Shakti 5.0 Legal Awareness Programme Empowers Women Through Education

The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, Kanpur, organized a Mission Shakti 5.0 Legal Awareness Programme for Women on 12 March 2026 at the University premises near the Free Legal Aid Office, under the guidance of Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall (Dean, Faculty of Juridical Sciences). The programme witnessed the active participation and coordination of law students and faculty members, aiming to empower young women through legal literacy and awareness.
The primary objective of the programme was to educate female students about their legal rights, protections, and the various government schemes available for women. The initiative focused on strengthening awareness regarding women’s safety, equality, and empowerment, in line with the broader objectives of Mission Shakti 5.0.
The programme commenced with an address by Ms. Riddhi Tripathi, Head of the Department, who highlighted the importance of legal awareness and the role of law students in promoting justice and social responsibility in society. She emphasized that knowledge of legal rights is essential for empowering women and ensuring their protection against discrimination and violence.
Mr. Rahul Singh, Assistant Professor and Programme Coordinator, explained the objectives of the awareness programme and encouraged students to actively participate in legal outreach initiatives that contribute to community development and social justice.
During the session, participants were informed about important legal provisions related to women’s rights, including protection against domestic violence, workplace harassment, and other legal safeguards available to women under Indian law. The speakers also discussed the role of legal aid services and encouraged women to seek legal assistance whenever required.
The programme concluded with an interactive discussion where students and participants shared their views and clarified their queries regarding women’s legal rights and support mechanisms. The event proved to be informative and impactful, strengthening legal awareness among students and promoting the spirit of women’s empowerment and social responsibility.
