OBSERVATIONS
- Strong participation: Out of the shortlisted pool of 26, 20 students were from the Third Year, indicating that pre-final year students took the opportunity seriously and are keen to prepare early for
- Cross-disciplinary reach: Students from Computer Science, BCA, Biotechnology and Mechanical streams were included, so the programme was not limited to a single The Computer Science stream formed the largest group (16 of 26).
- Structured evaluation: The two-stage design – an objective assessment followed by interviews – let panels judge aptitude and technical depth first and then communication and personality, giving a more balanced picture of each student.
- Discipline and preparation: The clear instructions on reporting time, resume hard copy, uniform and ID card encouraged professional conduct and reflected real recruitment-drive expectations.
- Panel quality: Having two panels per department, comprising experienced faculty and trainers, allowed smooth parallel interviews within the two-hour window and discipline-relevant
- Common improvement areas: As is typical in first-time mock interviews, students are likely to benefit from improving self-introduction, structuring answers, explaining projects clearly, and confidently handling unexpected technical questions.
- Early-year exposure: The presence of Second Year students shows interest beyond the mandatory final-year group and suggests that voluntary participation can be encouraged further.
OUTCOME AND CONCLUSION
The Mock Interview Panel provided students with a structured platform to experience an actual interview environment, receive honest feedback from faculty and trainers, and recognise their strengths and areas for improvement. The programme is expected to enhance students' interview readiness, communication skills, technical preparedness and confidence ahead of the upcoming placement drives.
The Training & Placement Cell thanks the panel members, the Heads of Departments, the Training & Development Cell and all participating students for their cooperation in conducting the programme smoothly.
RECOMMENDATIONS

- Share consolidated feedback sheets with students and track improvement before placement
- Organise follow-up workshops on resume writing, group discussion, self-introduction and HR
- Encourage wider voluntary participation from Pre-Final Year students of all departments.
