01 Dec 2025
The Faculty of Juridical Sciences, Rama University, organized the National Conference 2025 on 26th November 2025 on the theme ‘Constitutional Transformations and Emerging Legal Paradigms in a Global Context.’ The conference sought to create a rigorous academic platform that enabled scholars, academicians, researchers, and students from across the nation to engage in meaningful deliberations on the evolving nature of constitutional frameworks and contemporary global legal developments.
An intellectual resonance of the conference emerged from the words of Justice P.N. Bhagwati, who stated, “The law must constantly evolve to meet the changing needs of society.” This profound observation captures the essence of constitutional dynamism and highlights the essential responsibility of legal systems to adapt to emerging social realities. In the context of the conference, the quote served as a reminder that constitutional law must remain flexible, interpretive, and responsive, ensuring that legal principles continue to safeguard justice, equality, and democratic values in an ever-changing world.
The conference commenced with an Inaugural Address by Dr. Praveen Kumar Mall (Dean), who emphasized the indispensable value of interdisciplinary thinking and academic collaboration in enriching constitutional scholarship. His remarks highlighted that constitutional transitions cannot be understood in isolation; rather, they require engagement with diverse fields such as political theory, sociology, comparative law, and international relations. The importance of such an integrated approach was further reinforced by the distinguished presence of eminent dignitaries. Hon’ble Mr. Justice Pradeep Kumar Srivastava, Chairman of the State Law Commission (Uttar Pradesh), graced the occasion as the Chief Guest, offering judicial insight into contemporary constitutional challenges. Prof. (Dr.) C. P. Singh, Retired Dean and Head of the Faculty of Law, University of Lucknow, attended as the Special Guest, contributing his extensive academic experience to the proceedings. Prof. (Dr.) S. D. Sharma, the Guest of Honour, added further scholarly depth to the event through his reflections on legal pedagogy and constitutional evolution. The inaugural session concluded with a Vote of Thanks delivered by Ms. Riddhi Tripathi (HOD), who expressed heartfelt appreciation to all participating dignitaries, contributors, and organizers whose combined efforts shaped the event’s success.
The academic significance of the conference was further reflected in its remarkable scholarly engagement, evidenced by the submission of over 180 abstracts and more than 60 full-length research papers from across the nation. This outstanding response underscored the continued relevance of constitutional studies and the growing interest among researchers in examining emerging legal paradigms. The technical paper presentation sessions were characterized by intellectual vibrancy and academic rigor, as scholars presented research spanning a wide spectrum of constitutional and legal themes. These presentations led to stimulating discussions, enabling participants to interrogate established doctrines, critique emerging legal frameworks, and propose innovative pathways for constitutional interpretation.
The conference concluded with thoughtful closing remarks delivered by Ms. Diksha Taneja, who articulated deep appreciation on behalf of the organizing committee. Overall, the National Conference 2025 stood as a testament to the Faculty of Juridical Sciences’ dedication to adopting academic excellence, contribution to ongoing national conversations on constitutional transformation and affirmed the vital role of legal scholarship in shaping democratic governance in the twenty-first century.
