The programme comprised a pre-celebration awareness session, a voluntary blood donation camp, and a Doctors' Day gathering followed by a high tea. The entire programme was successfully organized and coordinated by Dr. K. Deepak Raja, Associate Professor, Department of Kriya Sharira.
Pre-Celebration: Blood Donation Awareness Programme
As a prelude to the celebrations, a Blood Donation Awareness Programme was conducted on 30 June 2026 to educate and motivate the RAMCH fraternity about the importance of voluntary blood donation.
The awareness session was delivered by Dr. Anita Tandon, Head, Department of Pathology Laboratory and Blood Bank, Rama University. Addressing the teaching faculty, non-teaching staff, and students, she emphasized the lifesaving importance of voluntary blood donation and explained how a single unit of blood can benefit multiple patients. She also highlighted the health benefits of blood donation, addressed common misconceptions associated with the process, and stressed the social responsibility of every healthy individual to become a regular voluntary blood donor.
The interactive session received an encouraging response and inspired many participants to register themselves for the blood donation camp scheduled for National Doctors' Day.
National Doctors' Day Celebration and Voluntary Blood Donation Camp
The main celebration was held on 1 July 2026 with the organization of a Voluntary Blood Donation Camp in collaboration with Rama Blood Bank. The initiative reflected the institution's belief that the most meaningful way to celebrate Doctors' Day is through an act of selfless service to society.
The camp was inaugurated by Dr. Guruprasad K., Principal, RAMCH, who set an inspiring example by voluntarily donating blood. His gesture motivated the participants and encouraged others to actively take part in the noble cause. Following the Principal's donation, four teaching and non-teaching staff members also donated blood, after which a large number of students enthusiastically participated in the camp.
With the overwhelming support and participation of the RAMCH family, the camp concluded successfully with the collection of 39 units of blood. The entire blood donation process was efficiently managed by the medical team from Rama Blood Bank, ensuring donor screening, safe blood collection, and post-donation care in accordance with standard medical protocols.
To recognize the invaluable contribution of every donor, each participant was presented with:
- A Blood Donation Certificate issued by Rama Blood Bank.
- A Certificate of Appreciation under the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India.
- A commemorative memento as a token of gratitude for their generous and selfless contribution to society.
The camp not only fulfilled an important healthcare need but also reinforced the values of compassion, humanity, and service among the faculty, staff, and students.
Doctors' Day Gathering and High Tea
Following the successful completion of the blood donation camp, a special Doctors' Day gathering was organized to honour the dedication and invaluable service of the teaching faculty and healthcare professionals of RAMCH. The gathering served as an occasion to celebrate the unwavering commitment of doctors towards patient care, medical education, and community service.
A High Tea was arranged for all the teaching and non-teaching staff, providing an opportunity for interaction, fellowship, and appreciation among colleagues. The High Tea was generously sponsored by the teaching faculty of RAMCH, reflecting their spirit of unity, gratitude, and togetherness in celebrating National Doctors' Day.
