Objectives

National Public Health Dentistry Day is celebrated on 19^th June every year. The theme for this year is: ‘Strengthening Oral Health through One Health Principles’ The day recognizes the contributions of Public Health Dentist in promoting community oral wellbeing and preventing oral diseases by educating people on the control of oral diseases.

Rama University's Department of Public Health Dentistry took the initiative to promote awareness of this campaign and set up several events in its support under the guidance of the principal- Dr. Asheesh K. Sawhny, and Head of Department - Dr. Nidhi Shukla.

Outcomes

National Public Health Dentistry was witnessed by Rama Dental College, Hospital and Research Centre at Rama University in Kanpur with a number of activities designed to promote good overall as well as oral health.

1.      Rangoli Competition” for the students. Six teams participated in the competition. The teams made rangoli related to the theme ‘Strengthening Oral Health through One Health Principles’. The rangoli designs were very innovative and depicted the theme.

2.      The undergraduate students participated virtually in the ‘Health Talk Competition’ hosted by Yenepoya Dental College. Our internship student Dr. Zainab Ahmed Ansari bagged second prize in the competition.

3.      Post graduate students participated virtually in the ‘Pedagogy competition’ hosted by Yenepoya Dental College and Dr. Ariba Tajammul second year PG student bagged 1^st prize in the competition.
