National Vaccination Day 2026 Outreach Promotes Immunization Awareness

A Community Outreach Program titled “Shielding the Nation: National Vaccination Day 2026” was organized on 16 March 2026 from 10:00 AM to 12:00 Noon at Kukaradev village, Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh in observance of National Vaccination Day. The programme was conducted by the Department of Child Health Nursing, Rama College of Nursing, Rama University under the theme “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible.”
The objective of the event was to create awareness among the community regarding the importance of vaccination and to encourage parents and caregivers to ensure complete immunization for their children. The programme was organized under the guidance of Prof. Vipin A, Head of the Department, with the assistance of faculty members Mrs. Veena Sharma, Asst. Professor, Rama College of Nursing and Ms. Astha Sharma, Nursing Tutor, Rama College of Nursing who supported and supervised the activities conducted by the nursing students. The event was also graced by the presence and support of the village Pradhan, Mr. Vidhya Sagar Kushwaha, who encouraged community members to participate in the programme.
As part of the outreach initiative nursing students conducted a role play to demonstrate the significance of vaccination and to address common myths and misconceptions related to immunization. The role play illustrated real-life situations where parents were hesitant about vaccinating their children and highlighted how healthcare professionals can guide them with correct information and reassurance. This activity attracted the attention of the villagers and helped convey the message in an engaging and easy-to-understand manner. Following the role play, a health education session was conducted to provide detailed information about the importance of immunization, the benefits and safety of vaccines and the recommended immunization schedule for children. The students explained how timely vaccination protects children from serious vaccine-preventable diseases and contributes to building a healthier community. Villagers actively participated in the session, listened attentively and asked questions, which were addressed by the students under the guidance of the faculty members.
The programme received a positive response from the community, and many parents expressed their interest in ensuring complete vaccination for their children. The presence of the village Pradhan further motivated villagers to support immunization initiatives and public health activities. Overall, the programme was successful in spreading awareness about the importance of vaccination and reinforcing the message that immunization plays a vital role in preventing diseases and safeguarding the health of future generations. The event concluded with a strong message aligned with the theme that “Immunization for All is Humanly Possible,” highlighting the collective responsibility of healthcare professionals and the community in achieving universal immunization.
